LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:

Copped Hall:
Copped Hall is a fine Georgian building, historically linked to Henry VIII and Shakespeare, whose A Midsummer Night's Dream was written for and first performed there. It is an imposing structure set in a beautiful yet stylised estate parkland, described at one time as 'the Premier house of Essex'. The estate is landscaped to conform to the English ideas of the 18th century – the taming of nature and the inclusion of uplifting vistas.

On the north-west edge of Warlies Park, Queen Boadicea's obelisk is also very close and a favourite trip for day-trippers and ramblers alike.

Nearby is the market town of Waltham Abbey, notable for housing the reputed grave of Harold II, the last Anglo-Saxon King of England.
